What Are Photovoltaic Solar Panels?

What builds up voltage between two electrodes is the generated electrons being transferred from one material to another. In most cases the radiation is sunlight and used in solar panels. At times you would use solar panel to specify that the energy source is the sun, and photovoltaic solar panel may indicate that a light source isn’t specifically the sun and not indicated.

There are a variety of different materials that use solar radiation and convert it into direct current electricity. These materials currently include polycrystalline silicon, cadmium telluride, copper indium sulfide, and amorphous silicon. The recent increase in interest in solar energy and photovoltaic arrays has advanced the technology greatly used in the renewable energy conversion business.

In the United States in 2006 investors offered free solar panel installation in return for a contract of twenty-five years. It is expected that most commercial photovoltaics installed are with a power purchase agreement. Many other cities are offering incentives to invest in photovoltaic solar panels, if you are interested in converting your home to solar energy, then you would do best to contact your local municipality and ensure you are taking advantage of any financial offsets you can. Most municipalities are allowing you the option to buy back excess energy produced by your system, this way, not only do you not have to pay your energy company, but they pay you!

At this time building integrated photovoltaics are being included in the construction of new homes and businesses, either as the primary electrical power source or ancillary. Generally you will find a photovoltaic solar panel incorporated into either the roof or the walls of a building, although it is now becoming popular to purchase and install photovoltaic roof shingles.

If a building is already built, a photovoltaic solar panel may be retrofitted to fit within the roof or walls of the building. If this isn’t possible or practical, then an array can be placed outside of the house and connected to a main power supply.

When choosing to be on the grid or completely off the power grid, you will want to take a look at how close your home is to it. If you are in a remote location, having a solar power supply complete off the grid is practical, if you are closer, putting it on the grid makes best use of the system, and you are protected in case of failure.

In any case, deciding to go greener and install a renewable solar energy source for your home is a smart move. You can eventually recoup the layout costs through your energy savings, and your home becomes more attractive to future buyers.

DIY – An Electric Magnet Motor is Better Than a Solar Panel System – The Reasons Why

In a say and age where every one is trying to save money and energy efficiency is becoming more relevant, electric magnet motors are turning into superstars. With all the other energy efficient devices available why are these motors becoming so popular. Is an electric magnet motor that much better than it’s more popular counterpart, the solar panel.

Well, lets take a look at the features and benefits of both these energy generating devices and come to a conclusion. First off, let’s better understand how each one works to generate the energy they do.

An electric magnet motor uses the power of magnetic force to generate electricity, meanwhile a solar panel uses the power of the sun to generate the energy it produces.

However, if they’re is no available sunlight then a solar system will be left useless. On the other hand, a magnet motor doesn’t have to rely on the sun or any other energy source for that matter t generate it’s energy. SO that means a magnet motor will run independently producing more free energy than a solar panel.

A lot of people believe they simply build and install one solar panel and then they’ll be able to produce enough solar energy to power their home sufficiently. This is far from the truth because to sufficiently power your home you need at least 5 to 6 solar panels working together in order to generate enough free energy. You can imagine the cost ot put together a full solar panel system that fully powers your home.

In contrast, you will only need to build and install one electric magnet motor to power your home by at least 75%. If you implement this one motor on a full scale you can easily power your household full time.

When you build a solar panel system you have to set it up outside so that you get enough energy from the sun to power the system. There is no issue with this until you start experiencing storms, bad weather conditions, and other factors that can easily damage your system. This is why the maintenance level and cost for solar panels are so high.

When you build an electric magnet motor you have the luxury of setting it up indoors, since these motors are pretty small while indoors your motor will be protected from the bad weather, storms, and other factors that can damage it. As you can imagine the maintenance level and cost of these motors are lower than that of solar panels.

If you decide to implement one of these generators on a full-scale, it will independently power your household, meaning, you won’t have to pay anything to the power company. Click Here and take a look at how you can begin producing free energy using a Permanent Magnet Generator.

3 Mistakes You Can Make With Home-Made Solar Panels

If you are like me, you are totally disgusted with electrical utilities, and how much they charge us to use their services.  Seems like there is nothing we can do about it.  I started researching ways to reduce my electrical utility bill, and stumbled across the idea that I could make my own electricity at home.  The first area I looked into was making my own solar panels.  Here are some of the common you mistakes you can make in this area.

Mistake number one, underestimate the time involved.  If you are not familiar with soar panels then you don’t know just how many electrical connections are required.  For a panel that makes one hundred watts, there hundreds of soldered connections needed.  Each connection must be cleaned, primed, soldered, and checked, before you move to the next one.  Countless hours are required to make just one basic panel, let alone the months needed to make enough panels to power your home.

Mistake number two, underestimate how much electricity is produced.  I didn’t really know just how much power a panel could produce.  But what really surprised me what how little time during the day the panel can harvest sunlight.  There are typically only about four hours of useable sunlight, which means each panel doesn’t make a lot of electricity.  Not only this, but the panels won’t work at night, when it is cloudy or foggy, or if a shadow is cast across it.

Mistake number three, these home-made solar panels are hazardous.  Panel fire.  Those two words are enough for me to stay clear away from these devices.  One small shorted wire connection is all it could take to ignite your home-made panel fire and possibly burn your house down.  To make this matter worse, your home owners insurance will not cover this because your home-made panels are not UL listed.

A good solution to solar is magnetic power generation.  You can make one of these devices at home, in an afternoon, using parts and materials found at a hardware store.  These devices are safe, clean, efficient, and you can make all the free electricity you want.

You can make all the free energy you want with a home magnetic power generator.

Now you can generate free electricity with a simple and easy to use guide for making a magnetic power generator at home.

Solar Panels 101

When it comes to choosing renewable energy resources, there is so much information available, and it can be quite confusing. If you want to commit to a solar energy solution, then you want to read this article, which will give you a solar panels 101 quick course!

Solar panels are arrays of photovoltaic cells that represent an environmentally safe and clean way to harness the energy from the sun and use it as a source of energy. The first step in learning solar panels 101 is to find out a bit how solar panels are made. The primary medium for creating solar panels is crystalline silicon.

Crystalline silicon cells are the most popular medium because of their durable nature and they currently are the medium that can convert the most amount of energy from the sun into usable energy. Generally a block of crystalline silicon is cut into discs smaller than a centimeter in thickness, and then polished to remove scratches from their surface. These cells are laid in a grid and covered with a protective layer of glass. Thermally conductive cement is used to bond the cells to a board and assists with preventing them from overheating.

One additional thing to note is that overheating can occur should you keep your solar panel on the ground. You don’t want to potentially destroy your panels, so ensure you invest in a good solar mount and airflow can get under your panel and stop it from overheating.

There are other technologies out there that are used in creating different solar panels; one is amorphous silicon which deposits a super thin layer of silicon used in the solar panel. Another emerging technology is polymer solar cells. Polymer solar cells are thin sheets that can be used to attract and retain energy as a renewable source. Scientists are discovering new ways daily to use different materials. Currently the areas of research involve finding less expensive materials that can be used for solar energy generation, consumers will start buying more renewable resources if the prices come down, and the efficiency of power conversion goes up.

Sunlight has been recorded to have conversion rates from 5-15%. If you want to purchase a solar panel, you want to assess your energy needs. If you are converting your entire home, you want to choose a solar panel with a high efficiency rate, other electronic devices you might be able to get away with a less expensive panel.

Products are coming out almost daily that involve solar panels and renewable energy sources. These might be car battery chargers, battery chargers, laptop solar panels, solar water heaters, solar ovens. Now with the emergence of smaller and more flexible solar sheets, the limitation on solar products is in the inventor’s imaginations. Every year there is new information showing that someone has had a breakthrough in solar energy research, and within three years costs are going to come down, and energy production increase.

Solar Panels

There is a lot of clamor on the Internet for guidebooks on DIY solar panels. When you go to Google and make a search, you will get hundreds of results for off-grid power. There are also a lot of reviews and commentaries on the topic that you can read.

Making your own solar and wind power for less than $200

If you are considering getting your own solar panels, you have to think first if you prefer to be grid-tied or off-grid. Of course, you can’t go off-grid immediately especially when you’re just building your own solar power generators.

1. You would need several panels to make this happen.

2. You also need to read on the pros and cons of being grid-tied and off-grid. Check which you really would want. And make sure that you’re ready for the impending change that’s going to happen in your home. It is always good to read up on what you need to do before you do anything at all.

If you really are sure that you want to go solar, you also would need to determine how much power you consume in a month. You can check your bill for this. This would help you determine how many solar panels you would like to construct. There are also some websites on the web that would help you determine how much a panel could make and how many panels you might need to reach your target.

Making your own solar and wind power for less than $200

You would also need to make sure that you are getting a reliable guide to building your own DIY solar panels. There are some people who just want to make money without helping anybody at all. They would sell guidebooks and have very attractive offers. But be careful. Some of these guidebooks could be lacking some instructions. If this is the case, then there would definitely be something lacking as well in the solar panel. And you can expect that your solar panel won’t work right or simply just won’t work at all.

Also know where and how to get the materials that you would need. It would be good to have everything ready before you start constructing. This also could avoid confusion later on during the construction of your solar panels.

Make Your Own Solar Panels And Eliminate Your Electricity Bill

Creating your own homemade electricity by making and installing solar panels, has never made more sense. A permanent means of eliminating your electricity bill in these questionable times would – just make sense – that is. And it’s not nearly as hard as you might think.

Commercially produced and installed solar panels will undoubtedly cause it to become years before you can realize a profit on your initial investment. However, if your willing to do a little research and take up this fun and fulfilling temporary hobby, with a minimal investment you can be reaping the financial rewards that home generated electricity provides, in as little as six months. In other words, you’ll be off the grid and have made your money back!

There are basically four things you need to do to be well on your way to the completion of this very worthwhile endeavor, that will literally supply you with thousands of dollars each year in free electricity.

1. Research and buy a good – how to manual – on building and installing home solar panels. There are several on the internet that have exact instructions including step by step videos.

2. Take the list of materials they provide for construction and installation, and decide the best course of action for acquiring and gathering them all together at your home.

3. Start assembling the panels in your spare time – either in your garage or yard. Store them inside until they’re completed.

4. Pick a weekend, preferably when there’s going to be good weather, get together a few friends, and have some fun. Promise em you’ll help them with installing theirs whenever they’re ready, or maybe just supply some entertaining diversions – and make it a party! If you feel totally inept at hooking the wiring from the panels into your main electrical system even after watching the videos, then have an electrician come over for the final phase.

That’s pretty much it. My first attempt at this process took under two months and I was really unorganized, but I installed a wind turbine at the same time. Anyway that was quite a few years ago and is a great story, for another day. Long story short and bottom line, nowadays is the best time ever, as the technology for solar panels has continuously increased, and the availability of materials is at it’s peak. You can realistically build solar panels with a punch, for under two hundred bucks a pop.

I’ve never regretted going through the process and am so impressed with the newer technology, that I’m considering upgrading my panels and possibly my wind turbine as well. Even still my electric bills are a joke and there are a couple of months out of the year when I should be getting a check back from the electric company. What’s the reason I don’t? Well that’s another detail I’ll have to save for another day.

All in all, if this is something your considering, I would definitely encourage you to follow through. It’s simple and fun to do, and I must say it was one of the more rewarding home improvements I have ever undergone. The most satisfying part was I did most of it on my own, with just a little assistance from friends and family. It just feels so good making your own pollution free electricity and eliminating your electric bill? Well all I can say is – It’s one great way of sticking it to the man.

Jay Geary is a retired organic horticultural consultant who for over thirty years has dedicated much of his time and energy to the study and practice of integrative and complimentary health. He is also an advocate of pollution free living. If you would like to learn more about building your own wind turbine then visit this site.
